We offer everything campers will need for their trip. Below are camper forms that must be filled out before embarking on a trip. If you are a camper, parent or legal guardian, and want to learn more about our trips, please fill out the contact form on the home page and we can answer any questions you may have regarding trips. We can also send these documents to you in digital format if it makes it easier to complete. We do not want anything in the way of getting your camper signed up for the trip!
Our trip guides go through meticulous and constant training in order to provide the safest experience possible. All our staff are certified for outdoor adventure guiding and must pass yearly first aid and wilderness survival training classes. Our ministry provides insurance on trips in case of emergency, and strictly adheres to safety protocols during travel and trip stays. Trips are planned around the overall physical and mental capabilities of our campers and are tailored to providing a safe, but often challenging environment that will push campers outside their comfort zones.
Our guides are verified and certified through nationally recognized leading safety, health and environment organizations. All staff members are fully vetted through independent, and comprehensive national background checks, certified for first aid, wilderness survival, and emergency first aid preparedness. We also follow state regulatory laws and rules that pertain to childcare.
We take young men between the ages 14 - 21 on these adventure trips. While we try and coordinate each trip with young men of similar ages, groups can often have campers of varying ages.
Zero. We receive and provide donations to pay for lodging, gear, travel expenses for these trips. We do not ask that families or campers pay for anything.
Yes. We are extremely excited to begin offering men's trips to our schedule. As time and resources allow, more trips will be added to our schedule in the future.
Yes. We provide a comprehensive insurance policy that provides the ministry with insurance on trip attendees during all trips.
Yes. We provide campers with the proper clothing for the environment to keep them safe and comfortable during an excursion. The gear is specifically designed and selected for each of these trips and is weather and season appropriate. We also provide all camping essentials such as tents, sleeping bags, eating and drinking utensils, footwear, socks, cooking gear, trail food and snacks.
We are required to provide one trip guide for every 5 campers. On trips of 6 to 10 campers, we will have two guides present.
If the campers wish to bring money with them, they can. On long trips, we make stops for fuel and restroom breaks at convenience facilities where they are allowed to purchase their own snacks and or gifts. We encourage them to each purchase a small gift for a family member at a local gift shop at our destination, but they are not required to do so. We also help them with funds needed to purchase these items in cases where they need help.
No. While we do often plan trips that require river or creek crossings, and camp near lakes, rivers or streams, we plan these activities around the capabilities of our campers. We do not plan water activities where we have campers that do not posses swimming skills.
We do not currently offer trips for women. While this may change in the future, our focus is solely on men. With added female staff resources, we may offer trips for women in the future.
Yes. Contact us for more information on how to schedule.
No. We do not discriminate or require specific vaccines for our trips. All are welcome regardless of vaccination status. While vaccinations are not required, we do follow safe and healthy hygiene practices to ensure optimal health of campers. These are basic common sense and proven hygiene techniques.
Yes, where cell service is available. We often take trips where there is no cell service, so there are often extended times where we are unable to communicate with family members. Many trips require days of non-communication with family or loved ones. Before embarking to these areas, we encourage campers to message a loved one and let them know they will be out of reach for a couple to three days, or longer depending on the duration of the trip. We carry Satellite phones in case of emergency.
